Acceptable use policy
What Plotwork may not be used for, and what happens when it is. Plotwork is run by Buun Group Pty Ltd (ABN 75 687 193 675), and this policy is part of the terms of service with it, and applies to every way of using Plotwork: the portal, the HTTP API, the hosted MCP server, agents you connect, and the links you publish.

TL;DR
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Who does it apply to? | Everyone who uses Plotwork, and every agent, key or script acting for them. You answer for what your agents and keys do. |
| What is not allowed? | Breaking the law, publishing content that harms others, attacking or overloading the service, getting around its limits or its security, and reselling it without an agreement. |
| What about the limits? | Use the plan's limits as they are. Do not spread calls over many accounts or keys to get past them. |
| Can I test Plotwork's security? | Only with written permission. Write to legal@buungroup.com (opens in a new tab) first. |
| What happens if I break it? | We may remove the content, revoke a key, or suspend or close the account, depending on how serious it is. |
| How do I report misuse? | Write to legal@buungroup.com (opens in a new tab) with "Abuse" in the subject and the link or details. |
Content you may not draw, publish or share
| Not allowed | Examples |
|---|---|
| Content that breaks the law | Material that infringes copyright or a trademark, defames someone, or that the law of Australia or of where you are forbids. |
| Content that harms people | Threats, harassment, content that sexualises minors, or content that promotes violence against a person or a group. |
| Other people's private data | Personal information, credentials or secrets you have no right to share. Plotwork's secret scanning may refuse a publish that holds a secret; do not work around it. |
| Deception | A diagram made to pass as another company's official document, or to trick someone into giving away access, money or personal data. |
| Malware | Links or content built to deliver malicious code, or a published picture used to carry it. |
How you may not use the service
| Not allowed | Detail |
|---|---|
| Attacks | Probing, scanning or testing the service's security without written permission, or trying to reach data, accounts or systems that are not yours. |
| Overload | Sending traffic meant to slow or stop the service, or calls far beyond what the work needs. |
| Getting past limits | Using many accounts, keys or organisations to get more than a plan gives, or getting around a rate limit, a daily limit, a plan gate, or a refused check. |
| Sharing access | Selling or giving away API keys, or letting people outside your account or organisation use them. |
| Hosting what is not a diagram | Using hosted diagrams or stable links as general file storage or to serve content that is not a Plotwork diagram. |
| Reselling | Offering Plotwork's hosted service to others as your own, or reselling it, without an agreement with us. Building your own product on its output is fine. |
| Copying the service | Scraping the documentation or the API to build a competing hosted service. The npm package and the self-hosted engine have their own licences. |
| Misusing marks | Using the product marks the icons draw in a way their owners do not allow. See trademarks and icons. |
Agents and automation
Agents and scripts are welcome; they are what Plotwork is built for. The rules above apply to them as they do to you. An agent connected to your account or your organisation acts for you, and its calls count toward your limits and your organisation's.
What we do when it is broken
| What happened | What we may do |
|---|---|
| A single piece of content breaks the rules | Remove the published diagram or the link, and tell you why. |
| A key is used against the rules | Revoke the key. |
| The account or organisation breaks the rules, or puts others at risk | Suspend it, and where we can, tell you why and how to fix it. |
| A serious or repeated breach | Close the account, as the terms of service describe. |
| The law requires it | Keep or hand over information as the law requires, and as the privacy policy describes. |
If you think we got it wrong, write to legal@buungroup.com (opens in a new tab) and we will look again.
Reporting misuse
Write to legal@buungroup.com (opens in a new tab) with "Abuse" in the subject, the link to the diagram or the details of what you saw, and how to reach you. For a security problem, use "Security" in the subject, and give us a reasonable time to fix it before you tell anyone else.
